Joe Lewis has counseled and defended pharmacies, business owners, nurses, and physicians across the United States bringing in over 30 years of experience in the field of pharmacy and prescription compliance.

Background. Joe Lewis is the former Chief of Investigations at the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and the former Chief Drug Diversion Control Officer at one of the largest hospitals in the State of Texas. During his long and distinct career as a peace officer, detective, senior investigator, and director of pharmacy law enforcement, Joe has built valuable networks from working with state and federal law enforcement agencies such as pharmacy boards, medical boards, nursing boards, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

DEA Compliance. Mr. Lewis has helped pharmacies and medical providers across the country to establish effective compliance programs and to defend against allegations of drug diversion, prescription fraud, overbilling, theft, overpayment requests, insurance billing disputes, and inventory issues. Mr. Lewis is particularly knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to narcotic investigations and compliance issues under the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 841).

Education & Training. Joe was trained by the FBI National Academy (124th Session), the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Diversion State and Local School (Quantico, Virginia), and the National Certified Investigator/Inspector Training Program, among others.
