Hamilton Arendsen serves as the Co-Chair of the Firm’s Trial Practice Group. As a former federal prosecutor and former Deputy Chief of the Trial Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, he has extensive experience in the areas of internal investigations, government audits, and criminal defense.
Mr. Arendsen has profound experience in defending health care clients against OIG subpoenas, Grand Jury subpoenas, target letters, government audits, and FBI raids, and he routinely advises clients in False Claims Act, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback investigations. Throughout his distinct career, Mr. Arendsen has supervised hundreds of trials and he has personally tried over 30 cases to verdict.
Mr. Arendsen previously held a number of senior ranking positions within the United States Attorney’s Office, where he received commendations for his extraordinary talent and his accomplishments within the Department of Justice. Among others, Mr. Arendsen received the Certificate of Congressional Recognition.
Mr. Arendsen is licensed to practice in California and Wisconsin as well as before various federal courts including the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
